Click on "Programs" to read about the PBWNM Young Professional Program! Here's what one of the participants has to say...
My name is Fran Martinez, I was a candidate of the Santa Fe Professional Business Women’s 2012 Young Professional program. Through this program I attended four Saturday sessions to learn how to sharpen my business skills to become more successful. My participation was just the push I needed to finish some projects I had put aside. I have reinstated my insurance license and working on my own part time business through Primerica. In my spare time I’m volunteering with a local business in Espanola, to help other professional women grow their businesses. Next year I plan to attend the program again and I will give you an update on my projects! My goal is to be your 2013 young professional of the year!
Sincerely,
Francelia Martinez

Professional Business Women New Mexico
Message from Kathy B. McGee, President
October - 2012
Hello PBW friends,
We invite you and your friends to become a member of Santa Fe PBW, Albuquerque PBW or Raton PBW! These are our 3 chapters in New Mexico. Membership is open to all women and men who support our goals and objectives. I am serving as PBWNM State President, and am honored to do so!
Our non-profit organization has been advocating for women’s issues at a local and state level since 1923. Our members are strengthened through development programs, awareness and mentoring, resulting in a stronger community. Leadership workshops and opportunities are provided to members and guests to help them grow their business. We are a diverse group who provides scholarships to women in need or in transition. We are able to do so thanks to our sponsors, like First National Bank of Santa Fe, Century Bank, New Mexico Bank & Trust and General Mailing & Shipping.
Santa Fe PBW has monthly networking dinner meetings, and four main events per year. These special events include:
- Business Woman of the Year, normally held during the third week of October, which is National Business Women’s Week. This year it will be at La Posada, 5:30 p.m., October 23rd.
- Employer of the Year is usually held in the Spring, and judges select the most “family friendly” employer.
- Young Professional is usually held in February, with an interview and speech contest for young women between the age of 25 and 35. Each local winner moves on to the State PBW competition, and gives her speech at the PBWNM Conference in April.
- Our major fundraising event is different for each chapter. In Santa Fe, the event is a Soirée and Wine Tasting event, which has been very successful over several years.
At the State level, we have two conferences per year. One is in April and the other is in October. Each chapter takes turns hosting these. The one coming up October 19 & 20 will be in Albuquerque, and the one in April will be hosted by Raton. We appreciate the help of Diane Furie and others planning and organizing the October event. Please call me at 505-470-7731 for more information, or ask your chapter president for the registration form and agenda.
I hope to see each of you at a meeting or at one of our conferences soon!
Most sincerely,
Kathy B. McGee
PBWNM President 2012-13
