The members of Professional Business Women of New Mexico (PBWNM) are known in New Mexico as the leading group dedicated to improving the status of women. Our membership is divers, ranging from recent high school graduates to retirees who come from varied background, professions, education, race, and socio-economic levels. We count as our members women and men in a wide range of fields.

The Santa Fe Council on International Relations came by the Professional Business Women of New Mexico, Santa Fe Chapter booth at the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce Legislative Reception last night and announced it will feature Ambassador Susan E. Rice as their event keynote speaker for the 2020 Annual Gala on March 05, 2020 6 - 9 pm MST La Fonda Hotel Santa Fe on the Plaza: https://sfcir.secure.force.com/default/CnP_PaaS_EVT__ExternalRegistrationPage?event_id=a2C1R000002vW7PUAU& Join Susan as she discusses her new book, Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For. This stellar evening begins with a Student Reception at 4:30 pm MST, a VIP Reception at 5:15pm, moving into an open cash bar at 6:00 pm MST in the Lumpkins Ballroom, and a speaking program at 6:45 pm MST. As every year, our Gala celebrates our many educational programs that bring greater knowledge of world affairs to the youth and community of Santa Fe. Ambassador Susan E. Rice served President Barack Obama as National Security Advisor. She is currently Distinguished Visiting Research Fellow at the School of International Service, American University, and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She is also a Contributing Opinion Writer for the New York Times, and author of Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For. Previously, Ambassador Rice served President Barack Obama as National Security Advisor and U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations. In her role as National Security Advisor from July 1, 2013, to January 20, 2017, Ambassador Rice led the National Security Council Staff of approximately 400 defense, diplomatic, intelligence and development experts. She chaired the Cabinet-level National Security Principals Committee, provided the President daily national security briefings, and was responsible for coordinating the formulation and implementation of all aspects of the Administration’s foreign and national security policy, including all diplomatic, intelligence, homeland security and military efforts. As U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations and a member of President Obama’s Cabinet (2009-2013) to which she was unanimously confirmed by the Senate, Rice worked to advance U.S. interests, defend universal values, strengthen the world’s security and prosperity, and promote respect for human rights. In a world of 21st Century threats that pay no heed to borders, Ambassador Rice helped rebuild an effective basis for international cooperation that strengthened the United States’ ability to achieve its foreign policy objectives and made the American people safer.
